FAQS
You do not have to show an animal or even own an animal
You do not have to be active in activities of the chapter, though it is highly suggested if you want to pursue scholarship opportunities
The majority of people with agriculturally related degrees do not work on a farm
In the first two graduating classes of Cy-Ranch 85% of the FFA members were offered an agriculturally related scholarship, the more active a member is the more likely they are to receive scholarships
Meeting importance-
The Greenhand orientation/What is FFA is very important for new and returning members wanting to know what is FFA is about and all of the activities and opportunities for the members and their parent/guardian.
Business/Booster Club meeting- where members and parents learn what is going on currently and in the future for the chapter, also a time for members to input any suggestions they may have
Livestock meeting- this meeting will discuss the school show as well as other shows and a small seminar will be given discussing the different animals
New member laser tag and other fun meetings- these are to get all members involved even those that do not participate in contest
Fundraising- it is very important for us to fundraise in order to help cover the cost of the activities, we are a very active chapter which requires a lot of money to keep the active in order to pursue scholarships
Booster Club- the parents/guardians play a key role in the success of the chapter and the advisors encourage the parents/guardians to be members and volunteer
Banquet- the end of the year party where the members and family get together and celebrate all of the accomplishments of the members throughout the year
